In a chat with my dormmates, I said I wanted to teach the children left behind in the countryside. They gave me the brochure of Teach for China the second day. I went to the campus recruiting presentation but did not sign up for fear that I was not competent enough. At last, encouraged by my dormmates, I decided to give it a try. To my surprise, I was enrolled. My expectation for the new year is to keep studying and be perseverant. I also wish that I could always be enthusiastic for the fellowship program until the end of the program.

In the two days in Longnan, Gansu, I saw the adorable children, the school and the classrooms in the mountainous area, and strongly felt that what I will do is not a career or job, but will help the children to pursue their dreams. Next year I will be standing on the podium and becoming closer to the children. I will then need to understand their mindset, pay attention to their mental changes, care about their studies, keep company with them and discover the special characteristics of each of them, just as the fellows are doing at the moment.
