My name is Ma Li, fellow of 2015-2017. I taught at Xihe Town Central Primary School in Dapu County, Meizhou, Guangdong. I am now a teacher at Shenzhen Bay School in Shenzhen, responsible for Chinese and math classes for Grade One.

After graduating with a Master's degree in 2015, I was hesitant in choosing the law firm that I had interned for months and Teach for China. But after I finished my mission for the fellowship program, I chose to teach without hesitation. I participated in the oral interview for the Teacher's Qualifications Certificate this month. The past two years have broadened my view of education and changed my professional direction.

No experience other than growth of students could delight me that much. Shifting from a student to a teacher has allowed me to reexamine myself. TFC's professionalism and inputs in rural education and growth of fellows assure me that what I have done is valuable.

When I finished my mission, the students that I had taught for two years also graduated. I am missing their smiles when they had fun playing games with me, their considerateness when giving me the pomelo and loquat they picked, and their bliss in being admitted by a key middle school. All these unforgettable experiences encourage me to continue to be a teacher.

Finally, special thanks to Teach for China for providing the opportunity for me and to every donor for their donations, which make possible all these beautiful memories.
