Additionally,we will share a story or update from one of our Teach for All partner organizations.

This issue, we would like to highlight Teach for Cambodia, which plans to place its first cohort of fellows in fall 2018.

Here is an update from them:

Currently, Teach For Cambodia is planning to launch their first cohort of fellows in November 2018, with summer institutetraining launching in August/September of 2018. They are eagerly preparingtheir program and are currently working to adapt Singapore’s STEM education curriculum and training to the Cambodian context. For the English literacyprogram, they will be adapting the Singaporean English program and collaborating with Teach For Malaysia!

The Teach For Cambodia team is alsopreparing themselves internally, and recently completed a team retreat in which they set the following intentions as an organization:

In 2020, Teach For Cambodia will be knownas a humble, empowering and asset-based catalyst in the Teach For All global network.

Internally, we will have a culture of respect, humility, empowerment,excellence-driven, asset-based attitudes. Our intentions:

-because we can identify our areas of growth and can truly listen, we will learn and grow significantly from the global network and the work that our partners (e.g.TFMalaysia) have achieved and not achieved

-because we think of education as empowerment, we will put our team's "personal andleadership growth" as the most important thing; what is different aboutour work is that we will enable each other to take actions and achieve(over-achieve at times). We will operate with a strong conviction that 'my teamhas my back and always looks out for me' mentality. We will encourage eachother to be at our best even if it is uncomfortable.

-because werespect our community and want to make sure that we don't go in to 'fix'people, which is super demoralizing and energy-depleting, we will choose totake on 'possibility thinking' and focus on what can be true.

-because weseek to initiate and sustain change, we will operate as a catalyst, we willgrow our technical and adaptive capacity, becoming visionary in our leadershipwork, juggling big tasks to make things happen, and being  diplomatic with all actors  

-because weview excellence as an attitude and habit rather than skills and knowledge, wewill emphasize quality in all things we do, so that we raise the bar of publiceducation in Cambodia and reshape the image of public schools as well as thelives of marginalized children who deserve EXCELLENCE
